The flowers of this variety have mutated lips that branch out from the middle of the spur. It got its name from the cut-tongue sparrow in traditional Japanese folk tale. This unique flower mutation is not seen in any other Neofinetia falcata varieties. The flowers have strong jasmine-like fragrance.
