This miniature epiphytic species from the lowland forests of New Guinea produces striking single flowers on long, wiry inflorescences that rise well above the foliage. The blooms display vibrant orange petals and sepals adorned with longitudinal dark red stripes, complemented by a dark red lip. Flower size is approximately 2 cm, and the plant's distinctive quadrangular (four-angled) pseudobulbs give the species its name.
