Catasetum ivaneae is a remarkable epiphytic species first described in 2016. The plant is known for its spectacular pendulous inflorescence, which is stiff and arching, reaching 10–20 cm long and bearing up to 30 densely packed flowers that resemble a cluster of grapes. These waxy, resupinate male flowers have a unique color range: from yellowish to pinkish, light brown, or deep wine, all featuring dense dark wine to reddish-brown spotting. The flowers are fragrant with a pleasant spicy scent.
