Cattleya schilleriana coerulea is the blue-lavender form of this compact Brazilian bifoliate species, prized for its fragrant blooms and distinctive lip. While the typical variety features pink to rose-colored petals, this coerulea selection is notable for its lavender-blue lip venation and greenish sepals and petals with dark brown spotting. The flowers are 10–15 cm across, with heavy substance and a wonderfully sweet, honey-toned fragrance. The most striking feature is the lip: a broad, fan-shaped structure with wavy, ruffled margins, adorned with deep radiating lines in blue-violet.
