This is a selected variety of Cattleya schroederae, originating from Hawaii as a selfing of 'Sakura Jewel' seedlings. The oscura form of the species is known for its darker, more intensely pigmented flowers compared to the typical type. This 'Monroe' TC clone produces pink flowers with distinctive yellow throats and notably round petals, contributing to the bloom's excellent, well-balanced form. The flowers are large, measuring approximately 15 cm in size, and carry an excellent fragrance characteristic of the species.
