This carefully selected sibling cross of the rare escura (dark) form produces offsprings with the species' most intense color saturation. The resulting plants typically produce velvety dark purple flowers with exceptional form and substance. Blooms are large for the species, often reaching 10–13 cm across, and are known to be long-lasting, remaining in excellent condition for 3 to 4 weeks. The flowers are intensely fragrant, with a sweet scent often compared to roses.
