This striking and uncommon species is distinguished by its wrinkled, knobby pseudobulbs. The plant produces a spectacular inflorescence—a pendant raceme up to 50 cm long—that carries numerous flowers. These flowers, approximately 3 cm in size, are pale greenish-yellow to whitish, heavily spotted with dark red on the petals and sepals, and feature a lip that is dark red with a vibrant yellow tip.
