This is an ambitious remake of the classic Lc. C.G. Roebling hybrid, first created in 1895 by crossing Cattleya gaskelliana and Cattleya purpurata (formerly Laelia purpurata). By using the alba form of both parents, this modern remake produces seedlings with pure white flowers elegantly accented by pale yellow throats. These florally generous plants combine substantial size with the intense, spicy fragrance for which both species are renowned.
