This colossal slipper orchid lives up to its name with massive, strap-like leaves reaching over 1 meter long—the largest foliage of any Paphiopedilum. Native to Sulawesi’s limestone cliffs, it produces 2-3 waxy, long-lasting blooms per spike, each flower showcasing intricate patterns of maroon veins on a creamy-green pouch, crowned by a twisted, ribbon-like dorsal sepal. Its deliberate growth (taking nearly a decade to mature) makes flowering specimens rare treasures.
